The Monroe Institute & something called Hemi-Sync

Something I've been doing for some years now is called the Gateway Training Program, or the Gateway Experience. I will let it speak for itself.

What can you expect from the Gateway Experience? As much or as little as you put into it. The exercises provide you with a set of tools - how you use them and what you do with them is your responsibility. Some discover themselves for the first time, and thus live more completely, more constructively. Others reach levels of awareness so profound that only one such experience is enough for a lifetime. Still others become seekers after truth and add ongoing adventure to their daily activity.

There is only one basis - that you seriously consider the Gateway Affirmation at the least a possibility: that you are more than your physical body, that you can and do exist in energy systems that are not limited to time-space, that you can and do communicate with intelligence beyond your physical consciousness - call it what you will.


What is Hemi-Sync?

Hemi-Sync is a patented, scientifically and clinically proven audio-guidance technology developed by The Monroe Institute and refined with over 40 years of research. Researchers learned that specific sound patterns could lead the brain to various states of consciousness ranging from deep relaxation or sleep to expanded awareness and other "extraordinary" states.

The audio-guidance process works by sending different sounds (tones) to each ear with stereo headphones. The two hemisphers of the brain then act in unison to "hear" a third signal - the difference between the two tones. This is not an actual sound, but an electrical signal that can only be perceived within the brain by both brain hemispheres working together. The result is a focused, whole-brain state known as hemispheric synchronization, or "Hemi-Sync." Different Hemi-Sync signals are used to facilitate deep relaxation, focused attention, or other desired states.

Music, verbal guidance, or subtle sound effects are combined with Hemi-Sync signals to strengthen their effectiveness. These recordings contain no subliminal messages. You are always in control.

Galápagos! A magical place

The Galápagos are a world apart & none of my writing or art can do these islands any justice. The words, "Galápagos" and "Magic" are the best we've got.

Unique and beautiful. A treasure like no other. For there… thar be turtles! (and dragons too)

In China the four noble beasts are Turtle, Unicorn, Dragon, and Phoenix. Where I lived - a short bike ride to this entrance sign - there were all four. Turtle, Horse, Iguana, and Chicken.

The local people also have stories about little people inhabiting certain lava tunnels.

Galápagos is a magical place.

November's Plans

I'll be back in Quito next month, but don't think I'll be able to stay for long.

I plan to head off into the jungle unless some amazing painting opportunity or desert shaman calls me first. I plan to go as deep as I can in search of a master trying to make up my own lesson.

Yeah, so hopefully that's a smooth phase transition. And you? What're your plans?

I've recently discovered that - indeed - Ecuador does have some of the best colours this world has to offer.

Unfortunately, some people don't understand that nature's greens are beautifully healing and that replacing them with bricks and cement and combustion engines is but an evil fever-dream from past nightmares of mad men.

Well, open up a new dream for them if you can, and if you can't, learn and grow.

Hello there!

I'm currently on the Galápagos isles. I mostly live on a magic turtle farm in the highlands of Santa Cruz. I'm not kidding.

Internet's a bit slow here, so you probably won't hear from me till 2014 :)

Apparently, have been doubly posting to the other blog when intending posts to go here.

Difficulties arise as Chinese censorship lessens. How about that new Chinese fellow, Xi Jinping? Better than the other guy? God, we almost had another Mao, what a murderously corrupt beast among beasts.

Now Wikipedia is accessible in China, so I'm able to legally read about the 14th Dalai Lama's comments related to various mantras and their relationship to various positive lines of personal progression on an enlightened path toward enlightenment - linguistic magic.

Would you dare argue music to lack such magic? The Chinese might, Youtube is still blocked, it's a great source of new music.

I haven't slept in some time so this may make less sense with time.

Beautiful Colors - China

Serious thoughts come together fall backward and loop as we think to bring comedy into our conversations about genocide, inequity, or inequality and if it will loosen people up to accepting the topic as a viable point of departure for future thought-flight, like a blinding flash of light before we rocket through the stratosphere (what's a heliosphere?) to the sound of thousands of waterfalls, although, I wonder if the right ears will hear. If not, it'll be entertaining if it's funny.

The Sorcerer - Bakery

The narrative could be seen as beginning on the left. A sort of creation moment or a spark of light creates the heavens. Space becomes complex and eventually gives way to some kind of mask that blows out color from a pipe.

This could be a pipe for smoking or for music making and the sound is some kind of abstract expressionistic colorful array. A great red triangle lies in the corner symbolizing the Tao.

Then the story goes back to it's creation point. Looping in some kind of fractal-splash of a ... I've had too much rum and can't write.
