Laos & Cambodia, Yeah!
We spent a few months this year in Laos and Cambodia. What a great time. Learned a lot of things from a lot of beautiful people. Became highly inspired by alternate ways of being and living on this earth. The current oligarchical means of being greedy over moneys and the limited powers and freedoms it brings is but one way of being. And as the cultures of the planet, or ethnosphere, are/is being irrepreably damaged by globalization, let's learn as much as we can from our elder brothers before they're gone for good. Because the contemporary "western" way of cohabitating has obviously failed many if not all of us to some degree.
Essentially, we can do better.
So... begin within!

Happy New Year 2017! "BE HAPPY"
Below are some works from the last quarter of 2016 with links to Instagram & Flickr.

If all goes well, I'll soon be traveling north into Siberia for the Chinese New Year. I'll then go south exploring South East Asian countries for inspiration as I continue work on a long term project with beautiful people for beautiful people as we share good art energies with everyone we meet and help the new generations that are coming along welcome a better dawn.
Much love to everyone I've met throughout Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Africa. I haven't been to Antartica ... yet!

Paintings About Reincarnation: Marshall Arisman
A new video I found from one of my favorite artists detailing some of my favorite works and a bit of process of how he makes his rainbows. Generally I see the bridge between worlds as a circular door... well, rainbows are circles in their true form, but I like how he uses them symbolically.

Outdoor works in the wild
I currently feel the predominant religion of our planet to be nationalism. In its current form it is generally sad at best. I believe a true nationalism would transcend boundary lines to include the entire earth. Thus, a new and more beautiful nationalism would seek some pure manner of expression grounded in the vernacular of a time and place while ever-so-slightly seeking to evolve current discourse. Maybe that's what I was trying to do this fall (2014).
Symbols are the most effective means of communicating across temporal and cultural boundaries. Unfortunately, most of my symbolism will go consciously unrecognized. Fortunately, the subconscious mind has forever spoken a similar symbolic language.
The following works are part of a transition in which I move my work away from figurative representation toward minimalism.
Newer works toward top. Enjoy.

Alex Grey 'and I'm tellin all a yall it's a sabotage'
Always been a fan of his work, but didn't know that this painting was
Beastie Boys cover for "Ill Communication" A fantastic album which has
the song "Sabotage"
Great song which yells at us something like "[tellin all of yall it's a sabotage]"
The painting is but one of the collective consciousness's manifestation of consciousness events of the future within the past. Don't know what that is? You're leading a less than fulfilled life, read Carl Jung or listen to him talk on Youtube, it'll take about 3-30 minutes of your life.
Painting's title; Gaia. Did you notice the Twin Towers & two planes & or the guy looking like G. W. Bush? Notice anything else?
Can't stress the fascination with which I listened to him talk.

The Cats Of Mirikitani
The Cats Of Mirikitani | Home
This film is about an American master artist of Japanese ancestry. He was in the concentration camps in the US and many of his works relate back to this theme of unjust imprisonment where many innocents died. He was recently "discovered" living on the streets of Manhattan where he would trade his paintings for anything he might need.
A so little-expressed, and so greatly needed, voice of empathy and compassion for what humanity does to itself and its environment. After the fall of the Twin Towers in New York he moved in with a film maker who continued to making a documentary on him and his work.

Call for Artists
This should be a pretty big event in part of the world where art, especially the art found at street level (streetart, wheatpasting, graffiti, bombing, tagging, etc) is dangerously misunderstood by the establishment. So, please help support cultural education in a place where it is greatly needed. The people setting up this event are doing a wonderful service for their community.
